PCUSA Growth

The membership Presbyterian Church USA has declined every year for over 40 years. No past or current leadership, task force, or program in the denomination has reversed this trend. Yet, while our denomination is retreating in size, the General Assemblies focus on:

  • The passing of divisive resolutions, like the resolutions on Iraq, and the Israeli Divestiture.
  • Ecumenical and secular political causes through the National and World Council of Churches and lobbying activities by the PCUSA Washington Office.
  • Financial support for experimental theologies like the Sophia project, and Messianic Jewish new church development.
  • Reconstructing of the foundations of our faith as in the 214th GA's, "Hope in the Lord Jesus Christ", and in the 213th GA's, Salvation Resolution.

  • Our default video player is Windows Media Player. Real Media is also supported. You can select either one with the buttons at the bottom of the left hand column. (Note: if you do not have a video player on your computer, click on the desired player icon below to download a free player.)
    • Windows Media Player - Best quality, slowest loading. Only for high speed connections. This viewer is chosen by default when you first see this page.
    • Real Media Player - Less quality, but fast streaming. Best for dial-up connections.
  • You may need to turn off your firewall software (ie: Norton) if warnings pop up.

If you haven't viewed video on the web before, it can require some patience as connection speeds on the web can vary considerably. You may even need to click on a selection a second time to get a connection established.

If you are having trouble with the videos, click on the 'Help' button to the left of the player selection buttons at the bottom of the left column for some additional information.
